We are not only optics manufacturers - we are also laser users and distributors with our own applications and testing laboratory. We know what it takes to make components that can withstand the pounding that high power laser optics undergo, 24/7.  

Materials and Coatings
LightMachinery has extensive expertise in the manufacturing and testing of Zinc Selenide and Germanium optics for CO2 lasers, Magnesium Fluoride and Calcium Fluoride optics for excimer lasers and Fused Silica and BK7 optics for solid state lasers. In addition, we have a thorough understanding of the importance of high damage threshold coatings for our laser customers.  

Repolishing
It is often a waste to throw out a laser optic that has some surface damage but is in otherwise good shape. Very often it is only the coating or the top surface that has been damaged. If you have a high value optic that has been damaged, do not hesitate to contact us about re-polishing and re-coating your optics. We may be able to save you money!

Recent Laser Optics Projects

Zinc Sulfide YAG laser galvanometer scanner mirrors. Light, stiff, flat, and fast with the mirror surface parallel to the galvo shaft. Protected gold coating is also popular.
Zinc Sulfide In the visible this mirrors have a variety of color, depending on the angle of incidence of the light, from clear to blue to orange. In the near IR they are high reflectors.
Zinc Sulfide Seven Zinc Sulfide one inch diameter pieces in process. The yellow color of Zinc Sulfide is lighter than the more familiar orange of Zinc Selenide. Harder and tougher than Zinc Selenide, Zinc Sulfide also has more transmission in the visible.
Zinc Selenide Short focal length Zinc Selenide lenses ready for anti-reflection coatings.
Zinc Selenide Steep radius Zinc Selenide lens approximately 75mm in diameter. The high index (2.5) of Zinc Selenide and tolerance for high temperature operation make it an excellent choice for lenses in the Infrared.
