Quarter waveplates, eighth waveplates, half waveplates, sandwiched waveplates, free standing waveplates ...  LightMachinery has extensive expertise in the manufacturing and testing of many kinds of wave plates from satellite applications to telecom.  Zero Order and Low Order wave plates (3/4lambda, 5/4lambda, 9/8lambda) with broad bandwidth, and greatly reduced angle and temperature sensitivity in visible and near IR are a particular specialty of LightMachinery.

These devices require high quality, very flat optical surfaces and an understanding of the crystal properties of materials.  LightMachinery has developed the skills and special metrology to manufacture and measure waveplate performance.  Our automated waveplate mapping system helps us to achieve retardance uniformity of +/- 0.5nm.
